An adult film star who "shares" a name with a luxury brand is now being sued for using it. However, the pornstar claims that she 'trademarked' it a year ago. Here's what happened.?
Gigi Dior, as is her stage name, seemingly shares her name with a French fashion house that has existed for 75 years. Gigi was reportedly asked to overturn her trademark because it was purportedly damaging the company¡¯s business.?She now might have to churn out a lot of money after being reportedly slapped with a lawsuit by Christian Dior Couture over claims that she trademarked the company's name last year.?
A part of the lawsuit stated, ¡°All goods and services ¡ are opposed, namely: Entertainment services, personal appearances by a?porn?star, providing a web site featuring non-downloadable adult-themed photographs and videos."?
Gigi reportedly called the lawsuit 'ridiculous.'?The 40-year-old adult entertainer has given a statement to the media and said, "This is ridiculous, my name has nothing to do with couture and, the funny part is, what I do usually involves wearing no clothes at all."
She revealed that her stage name was approved last year. Since then, she has used it across her social media accounts, her personal website, and also on her OnlyFans account. "I trade marked my stage name for entertainment and modelling purposes, I had to show proof of what I was using the name for, so I used appearances at exotica, and a website for confirmation, my request was granted. A couple of weeks ago, on Oct. 18," she told Page Six.?
The amount of the lawsuit remained unclear as per reports.?
