In an embarrassing incident in Patna, the managing director of the Bihar Women's Development Corporation asked a schoolgirl if "she wants condoms too" when the student asked for affordable sanitary napkins.
"In the end, you will ask the government for family planning methods and free condoms, too," she added.
"The government is giving lots of free things. Can they not provide us sanitary pads that cost Rs 20-30?" the schoolgirl had asked.
When the girl from the slum retorted that the people elect the government, Kaur cautioned the student. "not to vote."
"Don¡¯t vote. Become Pakistan," she said.
"Why do you need to take anything from the government? This way of thinking is wrong. Do it yourself," she told the audience, which comprised girls from Classes 9 and 10 primarily.
But the streak of great questions and responses was long.
When a kid said that her school's girls' restroom is still damaged and that boys frequently use it, the officer responded, she said,??"Tell me, do you have separate toilets at home? How will it work if you keep asking for many things at different places?"
