Tuesday, UB will celebrate the rebranding and the inauguration of a new 2,000-plus-square-foot CoLab space at the UB Student Union Theatre, 201 Student Union on UB's North Campus.?

Wednesday, September 20th, at the Centre of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, 701 Ellicott St., Buffalo. Offerwell, Sadie's Foods, V-Markings, and ArmHug will be the first to graduate.
Cultivator, managed by UB's Business & Entrepreneur Partnerships unit, creates new businesses in the Western New York region by assisting medium- to high-growth firms in their early phases. Funding is important for enterprises to flourish at this stage, but it has traditionally been tough to secure, according to organizers.
Startups who join Cultivator work with dedicated mentors for the first few months of the program. If approved for the next round of the program, the firm will get a $100,000 investment from UB as well as an additional six months of mentorship until their "graduation" from the program. Cultivator has so far involved 50 businesses, with 17 graduating.
