Coronavirus has claimed over 2000 lives around the world. And as people in China stay quarantined inside their homes, they've have come up with a unique way to ¡®walk¡¯ their pets without?leaving their homes.
Chinese pet owners are using super long leashes to 'walk' their dogs, Daily Mail reports.?
Viral videos show residents hanging by their windows and holding onto their pooches which are attached to lengthy leashes. They then ¡®air drop¡¯ their dogs to the ground, let them walk a particular distance and pull them back up with the same leash.
While some netizens have found the clips and images funny, many are calling the method 'dangerous' and 'cruel'.?
State media reportedly urged the country's citizens to not copy the practice and make it common.?
A video was filmed in the north-eastern city of Qiqihar on Sunday. It shows a dog standing while being bound to a long rope, which is held by its owner, from the first floor. Then one sees the owner hauling the animal by tugging the rope.
The reason why it was easy for the owner to walk this dog was because it was small and the apartment was not too high.?
One user commented, 'I am laughing too much. Only those living on the first floor could do this.'?However, one user criticised it by commenting 'Don't you know that dogs are afraid of heights?'?
People should not risk the lives of their pets and take care before pulling off such stunts.?
