While the entire world is looking forward to the landing of Chandrayaan-2 on the moon with apprehension, ISRO is actively preparing for its next ambitious mission to space - Gaganyaan.?
We informed you that ISRO's manned mission 'Gaganyaan', that is scheduled to take flight in 2021, now has a dedicated working space, with ISRO setting up a Human Space Flight Centre in Bengaluru.
The way forward is to get done with the unmanned flights first, with one taking place in December 2020 and the other in July 2021. Meanwhile the IAF has completed the first level of Indian Astronaut selection. Pilots who will be going aboard Gaganyaan mission have been selected. Indian Air Force posted this update on their Twitter handle:

¡®IAF completed Level-1 of Indian Astronaut selection at Institute of Aerospace Medicine. Selected Test Pilots underwent extensive physical exercise tests, lab investigations, radiological tests, clinical tests & evaluation on various facets of their psychology.¡¯
The news is quite exciting as it means we are one step closer to seeing India¡¯s manned mission go into space. For now, people are focused on the final phase of Chandrayaan-2. The final landing is supposed to happen on the early hours of September 7, and the mission is going to the South pole of the moon, where no other mission has ever been sent.?
