If you are in Italy, you can get free wine, but there is a catch. Al Condominio, an Italian restaurant in Verona, is offering clients a free bottle of wine. Customers must, however, surrender their mobile phones prior to their dinner in order to qualify for the deal.?
According to a prominent Instagram handle, restaurant owner Angelo Lella opened the location in the Northern Italian city in March. He wanted to encourage the diners to engage in talks rather than staring at their phones.
Several users have also responded to the message, with one commending the owner for his efforts.?
"A true man of class, giving away items that would cost money just for the consumer to enjoy their time there," he stated in an email. Another delightfully commented that he wanted an owner like that in his office. "Get this man in the office right away," he wrote.
In one response, a netizen stated that she does not drink but would gladly give up her phone for the complimentary reward. "I don't usually drink. "If they gave me a complimentary blunt, I'd gladly give up my phone," she said. Another individual appeared to agree, writing, "I don't drink wine, but that sounds like a great offer."
According to The Guardian, the owner expressed concern about technology, stating that there is no need to constantly check their phone. This gives them the opportunity to set it aside and sip some fine wine.?

Angelo Lella went on to explain how the notion came to be. "We wanted to build a restaurant that was unique from the others. So we chose this style in which clients can opt to forego electronics while sharing a convivial moment," the outlet cited the owner as saying.?
This notion of providing complimentary wine as a respite from the internet appears to be working well for the restaurant. Al Condominio reports that roughly 90% of customers accept this offer during their visit.?

"The reception has been really positive. Ninety percent of clients have chosen to leave their phones behind in exchange for wine. "It's wonderful to see people embrace it," the restaurant owner said.?
Al Condominio is regarded as the first restaurant in the Veneto region to use such a novel concept. However, there are other eateries that offer vouchers to guests who turn in their phones.?
