Ex-Hotel Worker Warns Everyone Against Eating Complimentary Breakfast Especially Eggs & Waffles
The woman named Brandi Augustus who spent 15 years working in and out of numerous hotels explained the dishes to avoid on her TikTok account.
The best thing about going for a vacation is living in a fancy and luxurious hotel. But the best part about living in a hotel is waking up in a comfy bed and eating their complimentary breakfast to our heart's content.
But looks like that the complimentary buffet we all love isn't that great - a hotel worker sure knows so. This ex hotel worker has shared the reason why you should never eat the hot breakfast.
The woman named Brandi Augustus who spent 15 years working in and out of numerous hotels explained the dishes to avoid on her TikTok account. In the TikTok video that was captioned 'Don't Eat that sh*t' she said that people should avoid certain items especially eggs and waffles.
She said ingredients get reused and cooking equipment isn't properly cleaned, but instead is just wiped down each day - leaving the dirt and grime to build up.
Brandi says: "I don¡¯t know how to say this without being attacked by people in the industry... if your hotel serves the hot continental breakfast, eggs, waffles stuff like that, don¡¯t eat that s***."
While working at one hotel, which she didn't name, she claims the waffle maker was rarely cleaned and they continued using old batter for as long as they could until it started to smell.
She says: "That waffle batter gets reused until it starts to smell like beer."
She even said that the manager asked them to clean everything with a single paper towel. "He said it was environmentally friendly instead of using a rag or a sponge or even mostly paper towels to clean things like bowls, spatulas, the tables," she explains.
She insists that if you do decide to eat breakfast, choose a hotel that employs "a proper chef and has a hygienic kitchen."
"I¡¯m just trying to save y¡¯all a headache," she adds.
Well, we sure have completely lost our appetite after getting to know about this.
