The hashtags #RashtriyaBerojgarDiwas and #NationalUnemploymentDay are being used as a protest against the increasing unemployment. With GDP at its lowest and unemployment in the country at its highest, people marked the PM¡¯s birthday with these hashtags in protest.?
As per the National Statistical Office (NSO) report, India's April-June quarter GDP contracted by 23.9%, the first contraction in more than 40 years. Not only are people failing to find jobs, already employed people have lost jobs in a large number due to the struggling economy and lockdown imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic.?
