Nothing beats hard work, and there are plenty of real-life examples to prove that. One of them is Neeraj Maurya, the son of a farmer from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Neeraj made a battery-operated motorcycle that can run at least 50 kilometres on a fully charged battery.
Neeraj's father is a farmer but repairs tyres on a daily basis. A student of Panchsheel Degree College in Mawai Kalan, Mirzapur, Neeraj had put in a lot of effort to make this battery powered motorcycle.
According to a Dainik Jagran report, Neeraj took at least one month for build this battery bike and didn¡¯t even have money to purchase a battery for the motorcycle. He collected money for the battery by making idols of goddess Durga during Navratri, the report adds.
The specialty of this motorcycle is that it can easily cover a distance of up to 50 kilometres once fully charged. Along with forward gears, a rear gear is also installed in the motorcycle making it capable of travelling in reverse. After hearing of Neeraj¡¯s achievement, MLA of Chhanvey block Rahul Prakash reached his house to congratulate him.
Neeraj has invested more than Rs 30,000. The motorcycle is capable of similar speed as normal petrol bikes. This bike¡¯s price could be reduced if the Indian government subsidies this, Neeraj told Dainik Jagran. Despite not having any technical knowledge or degree, Neeraj's mastery in automobiles has made his family proud.?
Neeraj's dream is to see people use this motorcycle and consequently protect the environment from vehicular pollution.
