Most?doppelgangers?are?known to be ardent fans of their lookalikes, but it's hard to say that's the case with Abhinandan?Pathak, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the country's most popular Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.?
Pathak's relationship with the BJP strained after he started disliking their ideologies. An HT report quotes him as saying that he was inspired by the PM but not convinced by his government¡¯s decisions.
He is now a centre of attraction after he filed nomination as an independent candidate from Lucknow seat.?
"I'll also file nomination from Varanasi on 26 (April). I am not a dummy candidate. I am not against anyone but 'Jumla'. After winning, I'll support Rahul ji's PM candidature," said Mr Pathak, who filed his nomination as an Independent candidate from Lucknow on Friday.
Clad in what has now come to be known as Modi kurta, and sporting glasses, Pathak ditched the BJP-led NDA constituent Republican Party of India (Athawale) last year.
Pathak decision to stand as an independent candidate comes after being denied a ticket by Congress for whom he campaigned from three states in 2019 Lok Sabha polls. Pathak is 51 years old and has obtained a master¡¯s degree in Hindi from Allahabad University. The HT report states that he thanked?people, who pooled in Rs 25,000 as security money.
