A police officer was going about his day when he received a report about an abandoned cat found on a busy highway in Florida, USA. The police officer, who was stationed at the Alachua Police Department, responded quickly and picked up the tiny kitty. According to bodycam footage provided by the Alachua Police Department on Facebook, the kitten is small enough to fit in the police officer's palm.
Fast automobiles can also be seen driving down the highway. If there was any delay in the rescue, the kitten could have been hit by oncoming traffic.
A driver from the neighborhood caf¨¦, Mi Apa Latin caf¨¦, also helped with the cat's rescue by positioning his truck so that it offered a shield for the cat.?
The police department hailed the driver on Facebook, writing, "Thanks to the help of a Mi Apa Latin Cafe driver who used their truck to assist in stopping traffic, the kitten was safely removed from danger."
This uplifting story doesn't end with the rescue. The cat was also adopted by one of the police dispatchers and welcomed into its new home.
The Facebook post about this animal rescue and adoption has received numerous positive comments. Mi Apa Latin Cafe applauded their driver's rapid thinking, saying, "We have the best officers in Alachua, and our drivers always know what the priority is."?
