In a bid to curb increasing violence amongst children addicted to the game, the Rajkot police have banned PUBG. As per the notice, the ban will be implemented in Rajkot from March 9 to April 30.
Anyone can file a complaint and inform the nearest police station against people playing the game and strict action will be taken against them under Central Government Act under Section 188.
A report on India Today?states that a circular has already been sent to a number of primary education officers tasked with the intention of imposing a ban on PUBG.
Jagriti Pandya, Chairperson of Gujarat Child rights body, to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) stated, "The NCPCR had sent a letter to all the states and recommended a ban on PUBG"
"All the states are required to implement it. Looking at the negative effects of the game, we had recently sent a letter to the state government recommending a ban on the game."
The circular has also banned the Momo challenge, which is a dangerous online game similar to the Blue Whale challenge. The Momo challenge targets teenagers and forces them to do dangerous tasks, usually ending with suicide.?
