People have taken to social media to post their own videos of rain in the country, which is located in one of the hottest regions in the world.
UAE is not only a hot but also a dry country, and although rain has increased in the region in the past decades, overhead showers in the winter were not always a staple. The country is experiencing more than normal rain in the region.??
The government has instructed people to exercise caution and stay away from flash-flooded areas and any accumulated rainwater.?The National Center for Meteorology has issued yellow and orange rain alerts, according to Gulf News. After rain hit Dubai on Monday, the NCM said, "...the amount of clouds will increase gradually over scattered areas of the country, accompanied by some convective clouds associated with rainfall."
The authorities have also issued guidelines for people motorcycling along the country's roads. They have also alerted the residents to expect rain and thunderclouds until Wednesday. While most clips capture sound rainfall throughout the country, many videos have surfaced where significantly heavier rain has poured over the desert country.
As per Gulf News, rain hit parts of?Dubai?in places like Al Barsha and Dubai Investments Park. The NCM has issued a statement saying that the country can expect cloudy weather until the end of Friday, with predictions of rain on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Unlike the rest of the world, which is dreading its harsh winters, people in the UAE are welcoming the sweet relief of rain from the hot and dry weather they experience for most of the year. They are happy to get their umbrellas and sweaters out for a change and even get out once in a while to get rained on.?
People took to Twitter to share their own experiences in the?rain. A fellow from Ajman wrote, "UAE winter rain, yesterday afternoon rain causes water logging in most places," about how the rains had clogged the roads.
While a user from Abu Dhabi shared, "Residents in Abu Dhabi wake up to rain and overcast skies for a second day."
A fellow simply captioned their video of driving around in heavy rain in the country and penned, "UAE winter rain."
