Lookalikes abound in Indian cricket. From MS Dhoni to Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, these doubles go all out to thrill die-hard fans by impersonating their idols to perfection.?
Recently, in a scenario straight out of a comedy film, what appeared to be Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan riding around on a scooter turned out to be their funny doppelgangers spreading joy on the streets.?
In the now-viral video, a Kohli doppelganger with the cricketer's distinctive beard confidently drives the scooter while his Dhawan counterpart teases him from the pillion seat.?
The observers, possibly lured by the traffic, burst out laughing when they learn these aren't the real thing, but rather their eerie copies.
The video rapidly went viral, causing laughter on social media. "He was Kohli. But then he grinned," said one user, pointing to the small changes in the replica's expression.?
Another person wrote, "Bhai pehli nzr mei lga real kohli kisi ko lift de rha." The third joked, "Retirement ka baad dono ese hi delhi me ghoomenge."
Meanwhile, other cases of cricketing doppelgangers have surfaced online recently. Just a few months ago, another video appeared depicting a similar incident.?
The clip portrayed cricketing icons Tendulkar, Dhoni, and Kohli seemingly passing on a trophy, symbolising the legacy transfer. However, none of them were the actual cricketing maestros, but rather their replicas, who combined to make a magnificent show.?
From a Sunil Narine lookalike wearing a KKR jersey to Tendulkar's mirror image wearing Indian colours, and then Dhawan transforming into Dhoni in CSK attire, culminating with Kohli's replica in the Indian jersey, each took their turn passing the cricketing relic, keeping the online community entertained.
