Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji has taken a stand against?tech workers doing side projects along with their full-time jobs. The man clearly stated in a tweet how moonlighting is plain and simple cheating in the tech industry.
He took to his Twitter account and wrote, ¡°There is a lot of chatter about people moonlighting in the tech industry. This is cheating - plain and simple.
People on the internet criticised the chairman for his blatant comment and had some harsh critique regarding the same. One user said, "Dear Sir, fraud and cheating is your company policy and you are giving Gayan through a tweet. please stop your double standard."

This comment by Rishal could be a refernce to Foodtech company Swiggy¡¯s Moonlight policy.?
The recently initiated Swiggy Moonlight Policy allows?regular workers to take up outside projects or work after office hours or on off days to earn some extra money. It¡¯s like taking second job with the full-time job.
The only clause here is that? the second job must not conflict with the regular job timings. Moreover, those projects and work that may have higher chances of conflict of interest or stand between employees¡¯ duties need prior approval.
This comes when Foodtech companies are being criticised for making employees work harder than usual while paying low wages than they deserve. However, the case is different in IT industry since employers are fear employees losing focus while working different jobs.?
Birlasoft CEO Dharmender Kapoor was informed of one employee who was working seven companies at the same time. ¡°It¡¯s hard to catch such cases,¡± he told the Times of India back in February, when the case was first reported.
