The actor, who plays Cressida Cowper in all three seasons of Bridgerton, took to Instagram on June 2 to celebrate her gay identity and the commencement of LGBTQ+ awareness month. "In love with a woman, loud about it and proud about it!" she said beneath the post, which included a deluge of art supporting the LGBTQ+ community. "#Pride #PrideMonth #LoveIsLove #GayPride," the hashtags read.
Her carousel also featured a video of herself sporting rainbow facial jewels and a bucket hat that said "LOVE SUPREME".
Jessica Madsen's Bridgerton co-stars, including out gay actor Jonathan Bailey (Anthony Bridgerton) and season three actors Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington) and Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton), flocked to the comments section to express their support for the star's public coming out.?

The latter wrote, "Love youuuuuu."Her on-screen mother, Lady Cowper, played by Joanna Bobin, similarly said, "Go baby daughter! "I love you."
In a recent interview with Decider, Madsen explained how fans had detected something "queer-coded" in her character's feelings for her new best friend Eloise. "Eloise and Cressida create a safe space for each other, which I love."?
"There is trust there, and they are inquisitive about one other because they are so different, and Eloise learns a lot from her about how unusual her life is," she explained.?
Madsen added, "And queer-coded? I truly adore that. That would be the finest! Yeah, that'd be cool. I'd like to think that makes sense because she hasn't bagged a guy. So, why not a gal? But, honestly, I have no idea."?
