The alleged spat between actor Deepika Padukone and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga over his Spirit has sparked a series of cryptic exchanges between the duo. However, neither of them has explicitly called out each other's name in public, but Deepika's exit from the film has sparked a buzz online.
Amid the ongoing row, actor Tamannaah Bhatia, subtly and cryptically, came in support of Deepika by liking an Instagram reel of Padukone from the promotions of her 2020 film Chhapaak, which she now blames on the mistake of the Instagram algorithm.
The video featuring Deepika clapping back at a journalist who stated that her husband Ranveer Singh's money was also invested in the film is now doing the rounds on social media. On Wednesday, netizens noticed that the Lust Stories 2 actress liked the post, leaving netizens speculating about her support for Deepika.
The video that Bhatia liked on Instagram highlighted the key issues that women stand against, including gender pay gaps, working overtime, unprofessionalism and misogyny, leaving the internet confused.
However, the actress has now shared another post on her Instagram story claiming that she did not 'like' the post, but it was the algorithm that did it on its own.
¡°Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own? cause random people are making this news and I really have work to do,¡± shared the Stree 2 actress.
Tamannaah Bhatia is not the celebrity who fell prey to the algorithm. Earlier this year, cricketer Virat Kohli also blamed an algorithm when fans noticed he liked a post of social media influencer and actor Avneet Kaur.
After the incident, Virat Kohli issued a statement that read, ¡°I¡¯d like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.¡±
The controversy between director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Deepika Padukone started after Vanga shared a post on his X (formerly called Twitter), where he shared a note that spoke about the dirty PR games being played by an unnamed actor.
He asserted that the actor had leaked the story of his movie after he told them about it.?
