Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya, who once owned the franchise and is currently wanted in India over an alleged ?9,000 crore loan fraud, posted on X (formerly Twitter): “RCB are IPL Champions finally after 18 years. Netizens troll Mallya: ‘Now return to India and repay RCB too’

While some acknowledged Mallya's early association with RCB, many on social media were quick to troll him. Users bombarded his post with demands for him to return to India and face legal action. Several even joked that Mallya should "repay RCB" or sponsor the next season’s trophy celebration.

One user wrote, "Ee sala Bharat aaja."
