The incident took place at Joe & the Juice on Kensington High Street, where Chenneour, 27, was enjoying her coffee with a friend during a dog walk. This is when the thug snatched her phone from beside her.
The surveillance footage shows the actress leaping into action after Zacariah Boulares, 18, stood behind her and stole her phone. The heroic defence by Genevieve Chenneour has gone viral now.
The eyewitnesses or the customers present at the shop were left stunned as Chenneour physically confronted the hooded attacker to reclaim her belongings in a bold move. Meanwhile, according to MailOnline, Chenneour was quoted in the report as saying that they did not expect her to stand up for herself, but she did.
This is not the first time that Boulares, a convicted thief of Algerian descent, has committed a crime. Earlier to this incident, around 18 months prior, he was sentenced to 24 months in youth detention for threatening to behead singer Aled Jones during a robbery in which he stole the Welsh chorister¡¯s ?17,000 Rolex in Chiswick.
Boulares was released after serving just 14 months of detention and is now legally named and pictured after turning 18. Apart from this, Boulares has been linked to a list of offences, including 12 prior convictions across 28 crimes and more.?
