One thing is for sure: Australia isn't just home to friendly locals, cool kangaroos, and cute koalas. It's also a nation that sometimes seems like the most dangerous country on the entire planet, much larger due to its reputation for dangerous animals that live there and all the?scary things that want to make us yell ¡®no, thanks!¡¯
If we needed any more reminders of that, this video will do the trick. An insane video is going viral showing a man using a frying pan to defend himself from an aggressive crocodile.?
In the now-viral clip,?a pub owner named?Kai Hansen,?from Northern Territory came face-to-face with a giant?crocodile. The aggressive reptile can be seen moving across the grass with its jaw open. Just as it tries to attack Hansen,?he does the most Aussie thing ever: Nonchalantly?fends it off using a frying pan.?
Rattled by the attack, the crocodile turns back and crawls away from the area.
As per local reports, Hansen landed some solid hits on the reptile just when it was about to snap its jaws at him.? ??
"Goat Island isn¡¯t your average pub and King Kai isn¡¯t your average publican! You just never know what he¡¯ll serve up next, "Airborne Solutions Helicopter Tours captioned the video on Facebook.
The video of Hansen fighting off a crocodile went viral and garnered tons of reactions on social media.?The video has now collected over 2.2 million views and over 26,000 shares.??
"That alligator said 'he who fights and runs away lives to fight another day,'" one user commented.
"That Gator understood the assignment He was gonna be in that Frying Pan that's why he went back to that water," another user said.?
"I¡¯m kinda mad the video doesn¡¯t have sound. I wanted to hear the bink bink sound," a third user said.?
"Gotta learn to carry a frying pan in my weapons arsenal, it looks handy," another user joked.
Last year, a?60-year-old man in Australia used his pocket knife to bravely fight off?a?saltwater?crocodile?as it dragged him into a river.
The Queensland Department of Environment and Science said the 60-year-old had been fishing on his property on the banks of a remote part of the McIvor River, near Hope Vale,?The Guardian?reported.? ?
He saw a bull standing on part of the bank he wanted to fish from so he shooed it away.?As he prepared to cast his line, a crocodile lunged out of the water and knocked him over.??
The reptile then clamped its jaws around his boots and started dragging him down the bank.?He grabbed onto a mangrove branch and tried to hold on, but the crocodile was able to drag him off, towards the water.
But luckily, he was able to pull his knife from his belt and stabbed the crocodile in the head until it let him go.?
A hundred points to fast-thinking and bravery!?
