Bengaluru has taken quite a beating recently on the internet. From its hours-long record-breaking jams to the city¡¯s unruly landlord stories, Bengaluru has transformed into a hub for sensational viral moments. Once again, the city left people on the internet befuddled. This time, it was a rental listing.
A Reddit user left people speechless when they shared a listing from the No Broker app. The viral listing left people absolutely baffled given the specifics of the residential block. The modest living area in the post was a 1 RK (room and kitchen) set with just enough room for a single bed to fit the ¡°room¡± part of the flat.?
The flat, according to the post, was located in Bengaluru¡¯s Mahadevapura. Recently, Bengaluru has gotten a bad rap on the internet as residents in the city expose landlords and their mounting expectations for ideal tenants. Moreover, housing prices in the area also become frequent issues on the internet.
The sketchiest part of the listing was the bedroom which only had enough space for a single bed to fit. Along with a modest bedroom space, the listing also offered a tiny kitchen with a sink, a two-burner stove, and a mini fridge. The space also had two cupboards for storage and a bathroom adjacent to the kitchen and the bed.?
The place also had other important facilities like a geyser for cold mornings, a water purifier in the kitchen, and a gas cylinder equipped to fuel the stove in the kitchen. Interestingly, the listing mentioned that with the flat comes a "servant room" too which left the internet confused. Given the space offered for the bedroom, people were confused about how another person would fit into the equation at all.
The listing hyped up the flat by boasting of the local facilities around the location of the flat, ¡°The ATM & bus station are close by, you will find having money in hand & access to public transport very easy. With a petrol pump & supermarket, your daily needs are easily fulfilled.¡± However, people were not convinced and had much to say about the bed-sized bedroom in the flat.
What made people roll their eyes hardest was the price point for a month of living in the 1 RK flat. The owner had listed the flat down on the site for a whopping Rs 12,000/month.
A room for bed is a bedroom. WTF Bangalore : )
