A Chinese flight attendant was actually fired for suddenly being considered 'too old' at the same company where she worked for over six years. That was not the only thing that happened.?
In recent news, a 50-year-old Chinese flight attendant lost her job because she was "too old" to work for the company anymore. The woman identified as Ms Hu, claims the news came as a shock to her because she was employed at the same company for over six years.?
The firing happened due to an internal restructuring after she had already worked with the airline?for six years before getting fired, as per local media reports.?
Naturally, as one does, she soon started looking for a new job. Reportedly, she also started working on improving her English and also learned Finnish. Chinese airlines do not employ women over the age of 40, so Ms Hu was looking for a job outside the Chinese airline industry.?
After getting fired from her job, interestingly, she became an inspiration on social media.
She started receiving multiple job opportunities from three overseas airlines that do not have a staff age limit, reported?South China Morning Post.?Her inspirational story has gone viral in China. Women in China often suffer from discriminatory age rules.?
For instance, if Chinese women reach the age of 40 or over, they are assigned other roles, according to South China Morning Post.?
