Marriage is seen as a sacred union between two profoundly in love persons who pledge to spend their lives together. However, a video that recently went viral online shows a man performing an unusual ceremony?in which he marries four separate women at the same time.?
The video garnered amusing reactions from netizens, forcing them to reflect on the meaning of marriage. In the video, the groom is shown enthusiastically taking the usual pheras (rounds) with each of his four wives, who are tastefully clothed in traditional garb.?
Following the rounds, the brides touch their husbands' feet respectfully to request blessings. The entire ceremony is set to the iconic wedding song Tum Jeet Gaye Aur Hum Haare by Neha Kakkar.
The tweet that accompanied the video reads, "Charioteer, take my chariot towards a cliff." Internet users have swamped the comments area with their thoughts. "He is taking ulta fera (opposite phera)," one user joked, while another showed skepticism, saying, "Ye fake hai, sirf reels aur kuch nahi (This is fake, only reels and nothing else)."?
A third user said, "Reel ke chakkar me direction bhi bhool gaye (Because of the reel, you forgot the direction)." The social media post has received hundreds of likes and thousands of views.
This incidence is similar to one from last year, when a man from Jharkhand named Sandeep married two ladies in a single wedding ceremony. Sandeep claimed to be in love with both women and that he had a child with his first companion, Kusum.?
When his relationship with another woman, Swati Kumari, was revealed, a panchayat (village council) assembled and decided that he should marry both ladies. Such incidents challenge established conventions and raise concerns about the changing dynamics of relationships in modern society. Watch the viral video here.
