A wedding in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, turned into an unexpected scene of chaos when a disagreement over a cooler led to the abrupt cancellation of the ceremony.
The incident took place in Majra, within the jurisdiction of the Chitbaragaon police station, and has drawn significant attention due to its unusual circumstances, reported News 18.
The groom, Hukumchandra Jaiswal, of Mustafabad, near the Sikandarpur police station, recounted what went wrong and how it ended up ruining what should have been a happy occasion. The bride's qualities were the only reason the groom's family approved of the marriage¡ªdowry discussions were not involved.
But things got out of hand when a fight broke out between the guests over who got to sit where in the wedding area¡ªnear the cooler. The bride was waiting inside for the wedding to start when tensions increased and voices became louder. She declined to go through with the marriage, citing the unfavourable conditions, upset by the worsening scenario.

Despite the groom and his family¡¯s best efforts to persuade her otherwise, the bride remained firm in her decision. The disagreement over the cooler soon intensified, leading to concerns about further escalation. This prompted individuals to alert the local authorities.??

Chitbaragaon police station chief Prashant Chaudhary confirmed that attempts were made to mediate between the parties involved. He stated, ¡°Efforts to resolve the matter amicably were unsuccessful.¡± Consequently, the marriage ceremony was officially called off, and both sides were issued notices for disturbing public peace under Section 151.
