Weddings can be a costly affair, but people are willing to go out of their way to make the once-in-a-lifetime event as grand and memorable as possible. However, a social media user was left shocked after her friend said she expected her to dish out $20k (around Rs 16 lakhs) to meet the wedding expenses.
The social media user, who goes by the name Kooky Mooky on TikTok, said she was supposed to be the bridesmaid for her friend's wedding but is thinking about cutting ties with her due to the unusual demand.

According to Mooky, she was already in much debt and another Rs 16 lakhs for the wedding would be beyond her reach.
"I really am just not sure I¡¯m going to be able to afford everything. With the outfit and trips, we are nearing 20k which is basically my student loan payment," Mooky told her bride-to-be friend.
She, however, acknowledged how special the day was for her friend and asked the bride if they could reconsider some of the events and clothing.
The bride seemed surprised by the friend's request and made it clear that nothing could be reconsidered.
"I did lay this out in my bridal party PDF. I¡¯m not sure why it¡¯s such a surprise. Actually, I¡¯m sure you¡¯ve been budgeting for this for a while," the bride responded.
Calling Mooky her 'best friend,' the bride then suggested that she could borrow some money using her high-budget Amex and figure out the repayment later.
The bride even offered to arrange a loan at interest to meet the wedding expenses for her friend.?
And before Mooky could respond, the bride started discussing what her friends were planning to gift her at the bachelorette party.
¡°Are the girls planning something special to gift me at the bachelorette party? Just want to make sure you¡¯re thinking of it,¡± the bride wrote.

The demands seemed to be too much for Mooky, who said, ¡°I¡¯m seriously trying here, besties, but you might be right that I have to end this friendship, but I don¡¯t want to," while referring to the bride as #bridezilla.
