An?influencer?has come under heavy criticism after she shared a series of?photos taken in front of her father¡¯s open casket.?
Jayne Rivera, from Miami, Florida, posted what has been described as "insensitive" pictures to her Instagram, revealing her father, a veteran, had passed away.
Riveraposed in front of the casket dressed in a figure-hugging black dress, complete with tights and heeled boots. The series of multiple photos featured her striking a leg pop pose in front of the casket.?
In another shot, there¡¯s a glimpse of her late father¡¯s clasped hands and his casket draped in an American flag. Thankfully, she blocks his face from the camera.
¡°Butterfly fly away. Rip Papi you were my bestfriend. A life well-lived,¡± read the caption, which was complete with a handful of hashtags, one of which being ¡°#ptsd¡±.??
People on social media were left appalled by influencer's actions.?
A?Reddit?user who spotted the Instagram post said the caption simply read 'rip' with a string of hashtags including?#papi #dadless #veteran #ptsd #funeral #neverforgotten.?
The Reddit user also revealed that 'almost all the comments were telling her to delete it' ¡ª which she may have since done, as the post no longer appears searchable by those hashtags.
The images appear to be more about giving the woman a chance to show off her outfit, hair, and nails than grieving her father.
Rivera, who boasts more than 85,000 Instagram followers and 307,300 TikTok followers, has already lost a chunk of her fan base following her actions.?
In an unrelated incident, two sisters from US' North Carolina were left shocked after finding a stranger's body inside the casket that was supposed to contain their mother.
Jennifer Taylor and Jennetta Archer lost their?mother?Mary in August. When they arrived at the funeral home for the service, they find an unknown woman ¡ª with no resemblance to their mother ¡ª lying in her casket,?WAVY-TV?reported.
The sisters claim that Hunter's?Funeral Home?in Ahoskie, failed to acknowledge the issue and even denied that the person was someone else.?Their mom's body was eventually located in the embalming room, the report said.? ?
The bodies were quickly switched back, allowing Mary Archer's service to continue. However, the sisters told WAVY that they felt dissatisfied with how the business handled the situation.? ??
