Sahar Tabar, 22, whose real name is Fatemeh Khishvand?shot to fame in 2017 when she underwent around 50surgeries to look like the Oscar-winning actress Jolie. Tabar has confirmedthat she achieved her look mostly with make-up and editing after the surgeries.
She now faces 10 years in?jail just a year after she was arrested over her controversial social media activities.?
Tabar was charged for corrupting the minds of young people anddisrespecting the Islamic Republic with her choices.?
At one point Tabar called on the actor Angelina Jolie, whomshe resembled in some of her photos, to campaign for her release, saying: ¡°The Islamic Republic has a history of tormenting women. We need to be unitedagainst this gender apartheid.¡±

Sahar Tabar added in her plea to actor Jolie that, 'her mother cries every day to get her innocent daughter freed.' 'DearAngelina Jolie! we need your voice here. Help us,' she begged in her social media post.?

Charges against Tabar first included blasphemy, incitingviolence, gaining income through inappropriate means and encouraging youths tocorruption, Tasnim news agency reported at the time.
Tabar also said that it had been her childhood dream tobecome famous, and that she had persisted with her efforts to build herInstagram following despite her mother's objections.
In July 2019, Sahar unveiled her former appearance for thefirst time, sharing side-by-side snaps of her pre and post-surgery.
She later admitted she'd had some surgery such as a nosejob, lip fillers and liposuction but insisted most of her unusual appearance isdown to make-up and editing.
Back in April,? there were claims that Tabar had contracted COVID-19 and was battling for her life. However, the reports were murky with?authorities claiming that Tabar never suffered from the novel coronavirus.
According to the?Daily Mail, human rights lawyer Payam Derafshan said Sahar Tabar's detention was extended. He asked the authorities to acknowledge the woman's deteriorating health.??
Iranian state TV broadcast her confession in late October last year and her expressions of remorse drew a great deal of sympathy.
According to reports, medical records also suggested that she had a mental illness, with a history of visits to psychiatric hospitals, making the 10-year sentence unjustified, reports The Guardian.?
