We've been conditioned all our lives not to lie especially when it comes to job interviews with prospective employers. It's best to be upfront and truthful and negotiate the perks and salary.?Because if experience has taught us anything it's that the past catches up with you and without warning. But a 20-year-old man recently took to Reddit to share how he 'hacked' his way to a high-paying job by "heavily lying" twice on his resume for at least two old jobs. Today, he's earning $80,000 a year, so clearly he's having the last laugh.
I¡¯ve lied heavily on my resume for my last two jobs and now I make 80 grand a year

Choosing the ideal career takes a lot of planning, something desi kids whose parents see them as engineers and doctors know only too well. Prepping for this part of life starts early; for some, it start when they're still in school. Then there are those who breeze through high school but then take risks, work on their contacts, and comb through multiple job portals all in search of a job that will suit them the best. It's smooth sailing from there, once you get your foot in the door.?
Then there are those who take another route: lying about contacts, references, job experience and will such skill you'd think they were born with it. Their reason might differ, but it makes you think about the question we've often had come up: "Does the end justify the means?"
Take for instance Reddit user 'usernamenshi' who recently took to the r/confession sub to explain exactly how he landed a job that pays him $80,000 a year today. And he's only 20 years old.?
"I¡¯m 20 years old and said at my first job I was promoted to a warehouse manager within my first three months, I¡¯ve also lied about tenure at those jobs, taken a couple jobs out of my resume etc.," he wrote.
But how is it working out for him now? He explained, "I¡¯m very happy with the job I currently have and no one knows."
Adding that the ultimate way to hack your way to a high-paying job is mostly what we've been told so far. "I guess the key to getting a good job is to hone your interview skills, have a general great work ethic and know how to make a damn good resume."
He ended his post with, "Edit: also apply to every good paying job that you think you can do everywhere you see listings (indeed, Glassdoor, local news job listing pages, etc.) once you land that interview your interview skills will take over from there. Higher number of applications = better chances obv."
