A passenger on a LOT Polish Airlines flight allegedly tried to breach the cockpit, forcing crew and passengers to restrain him.?
The incident took place aboard LOT Polish Airlines flight #26 around 8 pm local time on Friday, November 18.?
Passengers on the flight travelling from Warsaw, Poland to New York, US, were left alarmed after a man reportedly ran and banged on the cockpit door, becoming aggressive and shouting at staff when he was refused entry.
As per the crew and other eyewitnesses, the passenger causing the chaos had to be pinned to the floor of the aircraft. It was said that the crew and passengers worked together to restrain the unruly flyer.?
A passenger named?JT Genter reportedly recorded the incident and subsequently shared the video on Twitter.?
¡°A man started yelling and tried to storm the cockpit of our LOT Polish flight just after landing in JFK. Crew acted quickly to tackle him and announced a ¡®serious security incident¡¯; 15 minutes later we are still taxiing," Genter wrote on Twitter.?
Genter also posted a video of passengers and crew at the front of the aircraft, seemingly pinning the disruptive man to his seat.??
The flight had left Warsaw, Poland, earlier that day and was bound for New York.?
The witness told a local outlet?that those on the plane had been able to restrain the man until the plane reached terminal - 7 at JFK, at which point police arrived, according to Port Authority.??
The man was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for evaluation. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will now determine if he will face any charges.?The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the flight had landed ¡°without incident¡± at 8.30 pm.
Other witnesses told reporters that a male crew member had been hit in the face during the altercation and that the disruptive man had not been seen drinking alcohol.??
