A flight not landing at its destination can be among the most annoying things one can encounter when taking a trip. The process of flying already provides anxiety for some people that don¡¯t feel comfortable in the air for long periods of time.?
However, what if the passengers are responsible for such chaos? That's exactly what happened in this particular case.?
A pilot flying a passenger plane was forced to abort a landing after some people?on the flight refused to wear their seatbelts.
As the Scoot flight TR285 flying from?Bali?to?Singapore?reached its destination, passengers were directed to fasten their seatbelts to prepare for landing.
However, it seemed like there were a select few who refused to heed the instructions given to them.?
Due to the unruly passengers' refusal to obey the landing procedures, the pilot of the flight began to make an announcement, informing all passengers that he will not be landing the plane.?
He told the passengers that he was going to discontinue the approach to Changi Airport and circle the airplane around to attempt landing again. The passengers were warned that if they had not fastened their seatbelts by the time a second approach was attempted,?the incident would be reported to the Changi Airport auxiliary police.
"We are legally unable to land an aircraft if the cabin isn't secured... If we have to miss a second approach for the same reason, the airport police will be involved and they will take the necessary action," the pilot reminded the passengers through the intercom speakers.??
As the plane finally landed at the airport, another announcement was made informing passengers that local authorities have been summoned and would be coming onboard the aircraft.
An auxiliary police team then made their way onto the aircraft and were quickly pointed to the passengers who interfered with the aircraft's landing process.??
The culprits were soon escorted out of the plane with the police taking them aside at the airport for questioning.
Due to the incident, passengers on the flight had to disembark 30 minutes behind schedule.??
In a statement, Scoot airline apologised for the ¡°disruptions and inconveniences¡±, but they maintained that the wellbeing of the customers and staff is their priority and that ¡°appropriate actions¡± will be taken against anyone who risks the safety of their passengers and staff.
