The number of animal cruelty cases in Chennai is disturbing. Just a few months ago we heard of a man who was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting four newborn puppies. Now in another sickening incident, a man was seen dragging a dog on a busy road, after brutally beating it. He then flung the dog into a pond filled with sewage.
The incident took place in Chennai's Moolakothalam area.?

As soon as Sai Vignesh heard of the incident, a complaint was registered with H1 Washermenpet police station. According to Vignesh, the accused has now been arrested by police and will be remanded shortly. The carcass of the dog has been found and sent to the Madras Veterinary College for postmortem.
