As per recent reports, Scotland is bearing the brunt of the severe weather, with forecasts suggesting that water levels could surge to an extraordinary five metres above usual because of Storm Babet.
Damage to infrastructure has been reported; roads and bridges have crumbled, prompting First Minister Humza Yousaf to caution, "We have not seen the last of this storm."

Nearly 30,000 customers experienced power outages, and although most were swiftly reconnected, it left approximately 3,800 properties without electricity, as per Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).

Vickers had no choice but to get home in a kayak after she was finished with her shift at work. The Scotland local had to row her way back home when streets were clearly no longer safe for walking or even cars.?
Large portions of Scotland are especially feeling the impact, alongside significant areas of Wales, England, and Northern Ireland, as the relentless rain is accompanied by powerful winds, intensifying the challenges for those in its path.
According to The Independent, specialists affirm that Babet is an "unprecedented" storm, fueled by a combination of factors such as the influence of a typhoon on the jet stream and increasing temperatures.
