A recent revelation has left people very shocked about the fact that people in Sweden do not serve meals to their guests, even if they are eating themselves. Sounds pretty rude, right?
The hashtag 'Swedengate' has been trending on Twitter after a Reddit thread where a user revealed how he was treated when he visited a Swedish friend's house. The question was about the "weirdest" experiences people have had at a friend's house due to their tradition or faith.
The now-deleted response read,?¡°I keep in mind going to my swedish associates home. And whereas we had been taking part in his room, his mother yelled that dinner was prepared. And verify this. He informed me to WAIT in his room whereas they ate¡ [sic]."
That is when the 'Swedengate' hashtag started trending on the microblogging website.?
People started attacking Sweden's hospitality traditions and even spoke about racism in the country.?
Some people also tried to speak in Sweden's defence.
