On Thursday, a bizarre cloud floating over Bursa, Turkey, was spotted and posted on social media. The cloud formed the shape of an unidentified flying object (UFO) and intrigued people online with its almost perfect yet amusing roundness.
The Guardian explained that the cloud formation phenomenon was known as a lenticular cloud. It remained intact for almost an hour, after which it did disappear. While it was clear in the sky, many photos and videos reached the internet as people flocked over to witness the rare phenomenon.?
The images showed a stunning sunrise amid which a giant cloud floated above Turkey, with a hole in the middle of the cloud giving it a UFO-like appearance. Twitter user Byron J. Walker posted a clip and several images of the cloud and wrote, "#Turkey an unusual dawn this morning. Footage of a rare natural phenomenon called #UFO lenticular/spying foehn clouds."??

The images and clips quickly went viral as users started calling the cloud a UFO when?Turkey¡¯s state Meteorological Service explained that the images captured a "lenticular cloud." Lenticular clouds are known for their round, UFO-like appearance. Usually, these clouds can be formed at heights between 2,000 and 5,000 meters.
People had mixed reactions to the donut-like?cloud online. One user wrote, "Fascinating," seemingly sceptical of the phenomenon.
While another simply admired the view, saying, "Wow that¡¯s so cool."??
