A young woman in the US has explained how one of her neighbours called the police because she thought she was too young to own a house.
Taking to reddit, she said that she had purchased the house for just $15,000 (Rs 11 lakh) and it had previously been owned by an old man who had passed away.
But just three weeks after moving in, a row erupted between her and her neighbour, a woman in her 50s called Jane.?
"I explained that I just moved in and was preparing my yard for spring. She said it was nice that someone was doing some work for the old man and gave me a spiel about how it's a quiet neighbourhood and I shouldn't have parties," the woman recounted.?
"I told her I don't throw parties but was planning on hosting a housewarming and Thanksgiving soon.?She said it's weird to throw a housewarming when I was renting."
The Reddit user explained to her new neighbour she owned the house but says Jane didn't believe her.??
A week later, when she was out painting the front door to her house, Jane came over "yelling that I better of had permission to paint someone else's house."
The woman wrote: "I again told her I own the home. She started yelling that I was too young to buy a house and she was contacting my landlord."
"I told her to stop being a busy body and leave me alone. She started demanding proof. I told her it was none of her business and to get off my property."?
"She walked to the edge of her yard and called the police saying I was a squatter. When they showed up, I showed them my paperwork a [SIC] asked to trespass her from my home," she added.??
She spoke to her dad the next day to get his opinion on the matter. He said she was an ¡°a**¡± for ¡°making enemies with [her] neighbours¡± and said she should have just shown Jane her paperwork to put an end to the matter.
She doesn¡¯t feel that she did anything wrong, but her father thinks she didn¡¯t handle it properly.?
