However, one astute woman has devised a 'one week, no booze strategy' that she will follow for the following 365 days - and, while it is longer, it appears to be easier and simpler than abstaining from alcohol for just one month.
Bridget Stangland of Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.), posted a TikTok video describing her alternative to Dry January, which provides individuals a whole year to work with instead of just 31 days.?
As a lot of individuals fall off the sobriety challenge towards the end of the month or simply return to their habits on 1 February, she feels this could be a less complicated strategy which also boasts 'greater results'.?
The 31-year-old explained the concept to her followers: "The one week no booze method is taking one week off of alcohol each month, and at the end of the year, it results in three months of no drinking."
"For those who want to go a little bit bigger, you can do two weeks each month and at the end of the year it results in six months of no drinking," Bridget said on social media.
"That's half the year - big, big results. I started this because I realized that as I got older, there were still so many occasions where alcohol was involved, and I realized that having it all the time didn't serve me. I enjoy taking breaks because I feel great, I don't have brain fog, I sleep well, and my skin looks better. So I figured, why not make a minor modification that has such a big impact?"?
Bridget claims that her 'one week, no booze' strategy has helped individuals sleep better, save money, and lose weight."It's the best method, and I enjoy sharing it."
