Jack Doherty, a YouTube star and Kick broadcaster, smashed his $200,000 McLaren supercar after losing control during a rainy ride. The influencer, who has over 15 million followers, was livestreaming the event, and footage showed the 20-year-old distractedly texting while driving. Doherty quickly lost control of the truck, screaming as it drove into a railing, leaving him and his cameraman to deal with the wreckage.
Viral footage from Twitter and YouTube reveals YouTuber Jack Doherty's irresponsible driving, which resulted in a high-speed crash in his custom-designed McLaren 570S. The event took place on a rainy day in Miami, with Doherty's videographer, Michael, in the passenger seat.
During the Kick broadcast, Doherty was seen speeding before his car slipped and collided with a guardrail. In the video, the two of them can be heard crying for help and attempting to escape the wreckage, with the cameraman bleeding severely from his head and ears.?
What transpired next is shown in a video published on Doherty's X account (previously Twitter), in which he asks for assistance as others attempt to break into the driver's side window.
As soon as the video went viral, followers began to criticize the YouTuber rather than showing sympathy. Many people pointed out that he was on his phone just seconds before the crash and continued to livestream even after the accident, despite seeing his cameraman, Michael, wounded and needed medical assistance.?
Rather than prioritizing his friend's safety, Doherty requested onlookers to hold the camera as he documented the aftermath, even asking Michael if he had taped the incident. In response to the outcry, he has erased other videos from early in the live stream where he was spotted using his phone.?
Later, Doherty released a video from the hospital, where both men received medical attention, including stitches on the cameraman's head.
