ISRO¡¯s Bid To Unravel Black Hole Mystery: Successfully Launches Space Mission XpoSat
In a significant milestone for space exploration, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its maiden X-ray polarimeter satellite, XPoSat, as part of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLV) C58 mission. This mission, only the second of its kind globally, follows NASA's 2021 launch of the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE). The launch took place on January 1 from the first launch pad in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, where the 44.4-metre-tall PSLV rocket soared into the sky. ISRO, with several projects in the pipeline for the year, is gearing up for the Gaganyaan mission in 2024.
