The Porsche Incident has shook Pune to the core. So much so that it has left a profound impact on the city that was known for its bustling parties and fancy brunches.? Pune pubs and clubs have become deserted ever since a drunk 17-year-old crashed his car into a two-wheeler leaving two techies dead.?
A widespread online uproar prompted many to question how the underage individual obtained alcohol, especially considering the legal drinking age is 25. Consequently, this incident has resulted in clubs and pubs experiencing a decline in business, even during weekends.
Entrepreneur and fitness influencer Chirag Barjatya, based in Pune, posted a video showing several pubs in the city appearing deserted following the Porsche incident. Barjatya noted that the usual clientele of these venues, consisting of high school and college students, are now being denied entry.
¡°Pune clubs are empty. The crowd that used to party the most (high school kids and college kids) are not even being allowed to enter. They have stopped serving alcohol in the clubs except near the bar area. Even 40-50 years old people are being asked to show IDs for entry,¡± Barjatya, founder of PFC Club, wrote on X.
Barjatya shared two videos depicting deserted pubs, emphasizing that gaining entry to these establishments was previously a challenge.
