Starting April 11, 2022, Tech Giant Apple has asked its employees to return to work from the office for one day a week. But it seems that it¡¯s way too much of a demand for some employees.
Apple¡¯s plan is to introduce a hybrid schedule. After once a day work from office from April 11, the schedule enforces two in-office days every week by May 2, and three days by May 23.?
But what this hybrid schedule of Apple probably didn¡¯t account for was the employees removing themselves from the equation entirely (by resigning), as per a report in Fortune.

The New York Post reported that a self-described Apple employee posted this on a message board called Blind ¡°I don¡¯t give a single f**k about ever coming back to work here.¡±?
This worker was not alone, and it is believed that the message board had numerous anonymous messages from other employees as well.
Many employees have reportedly threatened to resign from their job once this new rule of starting work from office comes into effect from next week.?
A worker reportedly reacted to messages about resigning with a laughing emoji and said, ¡°I¡¯m gonna do the same.¡± Another employee rallied, ¡°Hell YEAH my man let¡¯s do this! F¡±¡±k RTO.¡±
One of the employees cited the transit as part of their reason for leaving: ¡°I already know I won¡¯t be able to deal with the commute and sitting around for 8 hours,¡± adding that they would send in their resignation as soon as they came home.
While Apple¡¯s new schedule is hybrid, employees say they¡¯re not planning to stick around to wait until a full return to the office occurs. The New York Post claims that multiple employees are looking to apply to other tech companies that offer more flexible work options.

When discussing this return-to-the-office process, Apple CEO Tim Cook had mostly addressed those who were ¡®excitedly¡¯ awaiting remote work to end. He had said ¡°For many of you, I know that returning to the office represents a long-awaited milestone and a positive sign that we can engage more fully with the colleagues who play such an important role in our lives. For others, it may also be an unsettling change.¡±
But it's not just the Apple employees that are unwilling to get back to the office. While President Joe Biden has reportedly started urging workers to return to their offices, employees tend to be less readily accepting the new normal that their companies are pushing. American thinktank Pew¡¯s recent research reportedly revealed that 60% of workers with jobs that can be done from home say when the coronavirus outbreak is over, if they have the choice, they¡¯d like to work from home all or most of the time.
