It's barely been four days since Twitter launched the hexagon-shaped NFT profile picture feature, and it's already on the receiving end of criticism - from none other than Tesla CEO Elon Musk.?
The day after this NFT feature went live, Elon Musk called this feature ¡®annoying¡¯ in a tweet. And that¡¯s not all. Elon Musk followed this with another tweet explaining the reason why he felt so.

It's not a secret that Elon Musk has always been quite vocal about whatever he feels or notices in the crypto world, with a long list of tweets surrounding major crypto coins and the changes or developments in the crypto space.

Elon Musk has often engaged in banter with the platform's former CEO Jack Dorsey,?directly or indirectly. And it's not only been on the issue of Web 3.0, but also on their respective preference for Dogecoin and Bitcoin, respectively. Here are some tweets which indicate the same.

If we look back at 2021, a series of tweets by Musk has shown how the year was a rollercoaster regarding his decisions surrounding Bitcoin, and how it impacted the cryptocurrency's value after most of his tweets.
In March 2021, Elon Musk had announced in a series of tweets that people could begin buying Tesla with bitcoin, after which the prices of bitcoin rose about 5% after his tweets. He also clarified that amount paid in Bitcoin to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, and not converted to fiat currency.
But just after two months of announcing this, Musk reneged on the plan. Explaining in a series of tweets, he raised his concerns over the energy usage and impact on the environment related to processing transactions and mining bitcoin. This U-turn by Musk triggered a 17% slump in Bitcoin¡¯s prices.
After his U-turn in May 2021 that caused a slump in Bitcoin prices, another tweet by Musk resulted in its prices jumping next month.
In June 2021, he tweeted that Tesla would begin accepting bitcoin once "there's confirmation of reasonable (~50%) clean energy usage by miners with a positive future trend." This tweet sent Bitcoin¡¯s price up 8%-12%, reaching a three week high on the next day of his tweet.
