Meta CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has managed to surpass software giant Microsoft¡¯s Co-founder Bill Gates to become the fourth richest person in the world.
This new achievement is courtesy the surge of 22 percent in Meta stock price which has made him richer by 28 billion dollars ( Rs 2.33 lakh crore approx).
After this latest development, Zuckerberg¡¯s net worth stands at a whopping 165 billion dollars (13.70 lakh crore approx) as opposed to Gates¡¯ 124 billion dollars( Rs 10.30 lakh crore approx).
As for those ahead of Mark Zuckerberg, the three richest men in the world as per Forbes are LVMH chief Bernard Arnault, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos respectively.?Zuckerberg will also receive about 174 million dollars as dividend(Rs 1.4 thousand crores). Meta will be paying dividends in March for the first time and Mark owns around 350 million Class A and B shares.?
If Meta meets its promised 50 percent quarterly dividend, Zuckerberg will end up making more than 690 million dollars(Rs 5.7 thousand crore) every year, as per a CNBC report.
Meta shares have increased by 14 per cent in 2024 and by 109 per cent over the previous 12 months, with stock in the California company up 933 per cent since Facebook¡¯s initial public offering in 2012.Facebook changed its name to Meta Platforms in October 2021.?
Meta might be successful in terms of numbers but it often makes headlines for regulatory opposition.?
