The last year or so has seen lakhs of employees across the world facing layoffs. Whether you are a fresher or an employee with decades of experience, everyone has been impacted by the layoffs, especially at tech and other industry giants such as Google, HP, Dell, Accenture, Meta etc.?
And Microsoft is no exception.
In fact, the tech giant Microsoft has recently fired more than 200 employees again, after already laying off more than 10,000 employees in recent months.
Amid this, a Microsoft employee impacted by this latest round of layoffs took to Linkedin to share her story.
Taking to LinkedIn, the laid-off Microsoft employee had posted a handful of days ago that she was fired recently and took some time to gather her thoughts. She was working in the Web Sales department at Microsoft for 1.5 years.
This is what her Linkedin post read"Now that I have gathered my thoughts I am thankful to have had the wonderful opportunity to work at Microsoft and meet so many diverse and talented people. Unfortunately, this is my 3 time being laid off in my work career. First one was from company bankruptcy. Second time was due to Covid and now from layoffs. However, every time I have been blessed on finding a new journey. It might be nerve racking not knowing the future but I¡¯m excited to see where I end up. "
And as recently as today, she posted that even during these difficult times remember to take care of your mental health. It¡¯s not going to be easy but definitely make time for yourself.?

Microsoft?CEO Satya Nadella shared this communication with Microsoft employees while announcing mass layoffs earlier this year in January, and the reason behind the big decision.
"We¡¯re living through times of significant change.?I¡¯m confident that Microsoft will emerge from this stronger and more competitive." He added " We will align our cost structure with our revenue and where we see customer demand. We are making changes that will result in the reduction of our overall workforce by 10,000 jobs through the end of FY23 Q3. This represents less than 5 percent of our total employee base, with some notifications happening today. It¡¯s important to note that while we are eliminating roles in some areas, we will continue to hire in key strategic areas. We know this is a challenging time for each person impacted. The senior leadership team and I are committed that as we go through this process, we will do so in the most thoughtful and transparent way possible.
We will treat our people with dignity and respect, and act transparently. These decisions are difficult, but necessary."
In May this year,?the tech giant also revealed that it will not raise salaries for full-time employees this year.
