Reliance Industries chairman?Mukesh Ambani?today made a number of big announcements for the state of Gujarat. The billionaire has outlined the company's five key commitments aimed at propelling?Gujarat?to global leadership at the three-day global?Vibrant Gujarat Summit?that is taking place from January 10 - January 12, 2024.
The?five big commitments?announced by Ambani will help in Gujarat's transformation into a green growth leader, harness 5G and AI capabilities, foster employment opportunities, and promote inclusive growth.
Announcing the?first?big commitment, Ambani unveiled the initiation of the?Dhirubhai Ambani Green Complex?in Jamnagar, with plans to commission the green complex in the latter half of 2024. "This will generate a large number of green jobs and enable the production of green products and materials and will make Gujarat a leading exporter of Green Products," he said, as per ET.
The?second big?commitment highlighted Reliance Jio's fastest rollout of 5G infrastructure. "Today Gujarat is fully 5G enabled - something that most of the world does not yet have. This will make Gujarat a Global Leader in Digital Data Platforms and AI Adoption. 5G-enabled AI revolution will make Gujarat's economy more productive, more efficient and more globally competitive. Besides generating millions of new employment opportunities, it will produce AI-enabled doctors, AI-enabled teachers and AI-enabled farming, which will revolutionise Healthcare, Education and Agricultural productivity in the State of Gujarat. This will benefit every Gujarati in urban as well as rural areas, since to my mind AI also means an all-inclusive growth," Mukesh Ambani further added.
"Third, Reliance's Retail will further accelerate its mission to bring quality products to consumers and simultaneously empower lakhs of kisans and small merchants. Our Retail business improves the quality of life of all households of Gujarat with better products and services" the chairman further committed.

The?fourth commitment?included making Gujarat a pioneer in new materials and circular economy. ?He said, "Fourth, Reliance will make Gujarat a pioneer in New Materials and the Circular Economy. As a first step, Reliance is setting up India's first and world-class Carbon Fibre facility at Hazira.?
And the?fifth commitment?is to develop infrastructure for improving education and sports.??
Speaking about the fifth commitment, Mukesh Ambani said "Prime Minister Modi ji has?announced that India will bid for 2036 Olympics. In preparation for that, Reliance and Reliance Foundation will join forces with several other partners in Gujarat to improve education, sports and skills infrastructure that will nurture the champions of tomorrow in various Olympics sports."??
The?Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024?has kicked off on 10 January at Gandhinagar's Mahatma Mandir. India's Prime Minister?Narendra Modi?inaugurated the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024.?
During the Summit, PM Modi will hold bilateral talks with CEOs of important global firms such as Suzuki Motor Corp's Toshihiro Suzuki, AP Moller's Keith Svendsen, Micron Technology's Sanjay Mehrotra, Rasna Private Limited Chairman Piruz Khambatta, and others. India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman too is attending the event just about three weeks before the Interim Budget 2024.
From India's side, billionaires?Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, along with Tata group chairman N. Chandrasekaran?are the top Indian executives in attendance at the Summit.
