Gorilla 76, a?US-based industrial marketing agency, pays more to its employees who leave. Yes you read that right.
The company's founder Jon Franko, in a Linkedin post, said a day ago, "From the moment an employee tells us of their decision to leave Gorilla and that they are in the search for a new job, any full-time employee who gives us at least six weeks' notice will be given a 10 per cent salary increase for the remainder of their time at Gorilla."
"We ask that they leave within three months. And we promise, no hard feelings," Franko wrote.
He explained, "This encourages our people to do something different if they're feeling stuck or in the wrong place. It also gives us time to prepare for how we'll move forward. It's way better than the normal two-week sprint."
The founder shared that the option was exercised recently by one of the employees who was extremely talented in the role but he was ready for something different. "So, he came to us, told us he was seriously looking, and that he would be gone within three months. We "shook hands", bumped his salary 10% and began our search," he added.
He further said, "We've found someone to fill the role, the departing employee has some great leads and we'll be working with both to prep for a smooth transition."
Franko said that the company doesn't want people to leave. "But we're fools to think they're all going to retire with us. Our approach is to make transitions as seamless as possible," he wrote.
In the comments section, Franko added, "It's not to keep committed employees, but to all those that are ready for something different, to leave with minimal disruption."

The post has gone viral on LinkedIn, with people sharing their thoughts.
As per Timesnow report, one user suggested, "Maybe take it one step further and offer a bonus if they can help find their own backfill?"
Another wrote, "Even if they are going to a direct competitor? That's risky. Otherwise, a well thought out plan and it'll leave a good taste in the employee's mouth."
Someone asked, "Why wait until someone is ready to leave to increase their pay, why not increase the pay before they leave or want to leave?" To this, Franko replied, "Who says people don't get raises? They see pay changes 1 or 2 times a year."
Yet another joked, "What if they just want a 10% increase and don¡¯t wanna leave? Is that a reverse psychology hack? 'So you want a 10% raise? So you are saying you want to quit?'"
