Innova Crysta Rival, Kia Carnival, With Power Sliding Doors To Debut At 2020 Auto Expo
Kia Motors India is set to bring its next vehicle to the country and this one would be a Multi-Purpose Vehicle MPV Named Kia Carnival the car has already been listed on the company's website with the tagline - Coming Soon. The car can be expected to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo and is expected to be a rival to the Toyota Innova Crysta.
After the launch of Seltos last year, Kia Motors India is set to bring its next vehicle to the country and this one would be a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV). Named Kia Carnival, the car has already been listed on the company¡¯s website with the tagline - ¡®Coming Soon¡¯ and can be expected to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
As for what the car has on offer, think of it as a rival to the Toyota Innova Crysta, only with a bit more features and if the company is to be believed, a ¡°class-defining luxury¡±. Not much information about the Carnival has been made official by the company yet but looking at the global spec model, we can have a glimpse of what to expect from the MPV.
For those unaware, Kia Motors first came up with the Carnival back in 1998. Now in its third-generation, the car retails in countries like the US, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Indonesia, Pakistan and others. The same model will now be reaching the Indian shores.

From what the company reveals through the website listing, the Kia Carnival will come with highlights including dual panel electric sunroof, VIP seats with rear-seat entertainment system and interestingly enough, a power sliding door and tailgate. A few clippings show the interiors of the car as well. Fine, plush on the inside can be seen with leather upholsters along with an infotainment system up front can be seen.
Kia Motors sells three engine variants of the Carnival across its markets. Out of those, we expect the 2.2-litre four-cylinder ¡®R¡¯ turbodiesel engine to make its way to India. The engine promises a 193 ps to 200 ps of power and a torque of 440 Nm from 1750 to 2750 rpm. Coupled to this would be a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2.2 CRDi model is available in two seating capacities. One offers a 7/8 seating while the other can house 11 people in one go. It is expected that the company will bring the former variant to India at first, with which we can also expect top-of-the-line features on the car.

It is interesting to note that while Kia is gearing up to bring Carnival to India, MG Motor has also announced a bigger version of its Hector SUV termed Hector Plus. The new model will come with slight design changes and a seating capacity of 6 or 7. A spy shot of the car doing test runs is going viral on the Internet.
