At Almost Rs 80 Lakh, Toyota Vellfire Is Now The Costliest Car In India With Sliding Doors

Car makers have been shy of introducing their top end luxury offerings in the MPV segment in India for long. Not anymore, as one after the other, they are now introducing their MPV vehicles in the country¡¯s market and the latest one to join this list is Toyota, with the launch of the Vellfire at a starting price of Rs 79.5 lakh.

Now before that price tag sinks in, know that the Vellfire will be competing with the Mercedes-Benz V Class and get this, will be costlier than it. The V Class starts retailing in India at a price of Rs 68.4 lakh. An MPV costlier than that with a Toyota make, well, has got to be a great one.

And great it is, at least looking at the list of features it has to offer! Just to list a few here, Toyota Vellfire comes with leather upholstery, seats with memory setting, power adjustment and Ottoman function, 17-speaker JBL premium audio, 16 colours ambient light as well as super long seat sliding function.

That¡¯s on the inside. Exteriors of Toyota Vellfire are laden with a chiselled body structure housing a single Ingot-Shaped Grille at the front, triangular fog lamp bezels, upper headlamps with two square projectors, power sliding doors, two-part rear combination lamps as well as twin moonroofs.

For safety, Toyota Vellfire comes equipped with 7 SRS Airbags & VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management). The latter essentially works as a proactive safety feature for providing stability to the vehicle based on its performance control technology. Other safety features include Emergency Brake Signal, hill-start assists control (HAC) as well as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

Under the hood, the Vellfire comes with a 2.5-litre 4-Cylinder Gasoline Hybrid Engine that offers 115 BHP of power and a max torque of 198 Nm. Interestingly, the engine comes equipped with two electric motors as well as a hybrid battery for an extended mileage and hence, a reduced emissions. Best part, the hybrid battery works with an onboard charging, so there is no need for an external charger.
