Deltarune Chapter 3: Every recruit and where to find them
Deltarune Chapter 3 has eight recruitable characters that you can add to Castle Town. From hidden cloud-like figures to electric tech enemies, each recruit needs a different approach. This guide covers how to find them, what to do in battle, and how to make sure you don¡¯t lose your chance.

Deltarune Chapter 3 brings a fresh set of characters to recruit, and each one has a unique style, personality, and way to join your team. The game¡¯s recruit system lets you spare enemies and add them to Castle Town if you manage to show mercy the right way. But some of these characters are hidden in tricky places, and if you miss the chance or accidentally knock them out, you won¡¯t get them back.

Chapter 3 recruit list and locations
So, here¡¯s a detailed guide on all eight recruits in Chapter 3 of Deltarune, along with how to recruit them and where they show up:
- Elnina: Elnina looks like a small cloud and only appears near the end of Chapter 3. She¡¯s easy to walk past, especially if you're rushing. Keep exploring every path before the final area to spot her. You need to be gentle and spare her with kind actions.
- Lanino: A bright, sun-shaped enemy with music-based attacks. Lanino¡¯s moves follow a beat, so you have to time your Act commands to match the rhythm. If you press too early or too late, you¡¯ll miss the chance. Stay focused, and don¡¯t try to attack.
- Pippins: Pippins shows up in the factory-style zones toward the end. He seems nervous and doesn¡¯t attack too much. He¡¯s best handled with defensive tactics. Focus on protecting yourself and building mercy instead of going aggressive.
- Ribbick: This frog-like enemy uses his tongue for long-range hits and likes to jump away mid-fight. You need to act quickly with commands like ¡°Calm¡± or ¡°Wait,¡± or he¡¯ll escape before you can recruit him.
- Shadow Guy: One of the first enemies you¡¯ll meet. He wears a black cloak and has flashy, fast moves. Instead of fighting back, try using pacify-type commands early. It¡¯s a good idea to learn how to deal with him since he shows up more than once.
- Shuttah: A constantly spinning enemy that almost never comes alone. You¡¯ll face them in groups, and the best way to spare them is by coordinating moves. Don¡¯t hit them. Instead, find peaceful actions that can calm them together.
- Water Cooler: This one¡¯s both funny and strange. It¡¯s a living watercooler. It doesn¡¯t fight or move much, but it¡¯s very easy to miss if you don¡¯t look around properly. Just interact and spare, no fight needed.
- Zapper: Found in the tech-style rooms, Zapper floats and sends electric sparks. Don¡¯t charge in, but use moves that disarm it or cool it down. If you get hit too much or use damage-based actions, it¡¯ll get too scared and disappear.
Note: Do not make this one mistake or they will be gone
In Chapter 3, if you beat an enemy instead of sparing them, they won¡¯t appear in Castle Town. That enemy type becomes marked as ¡°Lost,¡± and you won¡¯t get another chance. So it¡¯s best to avoid attacking and stick with peaceful options when trying to recruit.
