People Are Betting On Tesla Cybertruck vs Ford F-150 Tug-Of-War Rematch And It Has A Surprising Underdog!

It would be an understatement to call the Tesla Cybertruck unveil an exciting affair. As the vehicle stood its ground at the centre of the stage, Elon Musk kept on building on the bullish nature of it. Several real world tests conducted by the Tesla team playing in the background reiterated the Cybertruck¡¯s supremacy over its counterparts. A particularly interesting one was its tug-of-war with America¡¯s favourite pickup truck to date, the Ford F-150.

A short clip showed what happens when the Cybertruck is pitted against the Ford F-150. From what was shown, Tesla claimed that the Cybertruck can pull the Ford F-150 pickup truck with ease. So much ease, that the Cybertruck was treading uphill while pulling the Ford F-150 at its tail.

Exciting stuff indeed. Though many were quick to point out several discrepancies in the video. For instance, the Ford F-150 pickup truck used in the tug-of-war was a rear-wheel drive. That, and the fact that both the trucks were completely empty at the time urged many to ask for a rematch and this time, one that was fairer to the Ford F-150.

While Ford did not entertain the requests at all, deeming the whole exercise as 'absurd', Elon Musk is game for the rematch which is now scheduled for next week. As can be expected, excitement around the tug-of-war this time has doubled too. So much so, that people have actually started betting on the match!

With the prevalent betting culture in countries like the US allowing people to bet on almost anything, several betting websites have enlisted a bet on the tug-of-war rematch. While you might find that to be the exciting part, get this - the odds have been listed in favour of the Ford F-150.

In one of the sites, known as MyBookie, the bet on Tesla Cybertruck currently stands at +110, while that on the Ford F150 is at -130. This means that anyone placing a $100 bet on the Cybertruck will get $210 in return if the electric pickup truck wins. Those betting the same amount on the Ford F-150 will get $176.92 in return if the Ford pickup truck wins.

The odds essentially indicate that the Tesla Cybertruck is being considered as the underdog in this fight. This, despite Tesla¡¯s demonstration of how its electric pickup truck was able to pull the Ford F-150 uphill.

While the odds are certainly not indicative of the result, it is interesting to see how those betting on the rematch are backing Ford F-150 to win this one. A possible reason for this might be the fact that people have not seen a loaded Cybertruck in action as of now. Though chances are, loaded or not, the Tesla pickup truck will come out on top of this one too. If and when it does, it seems like many are going to be disappointed to lose their money on this particular bet.
