With the evolution of battery technology, one particularly handy feature that is making waves is the transfer of charge from one battery to another. Several smartphones already come with this capability. Now, it is the turn of electric vehicles, it seems.
Rivian, an American electric car maker poised to take on the likes of Tesla, has promised "Rivian-to-Rivian" charging potential on its upcoming EV offerings. The confirmation comes from none other than the Company chief R.J. Scaringe in a recent interview with The Drive.
Scaringe did not elaborate on how the company plans to make it work but it is easy to see that since the technology is available, it can be replicated across any battery models. In practice, the feature will allow any Rivian car or truck to charge from another with higher battery power.
